A WONDERFUL VISIT WITH GREAT FRIENDS

Sunday, July 14 – We had 16, YES, that is 16, straight days of rain. The sky looked like this every day! Yuck…16 bad hair days for Marsha.

Finally the sun came out and our friends, Pam and John of Oh The Places They Go, stopped for a visit.

Pam and John

We met these full-timers through our blogs and enjoyed lunch with them a year ago just outside Yellowstone National Park. They are on their way to York, PA, their hometown, and stopped here for a couple of nights.

Paul was happy to see his driveway improvements were a success. John slipped right in next to our 5th wheel on the first try, no problems. Unfortunately, we only have 120 volt electricity for them to plug into, but Mother Nature cooperated and cooled things off a tad. No humidity either!

After they got parked and settled in, we enjoyed a little happy hour and caught up on each others lives for a couple hours. Then Marsha prepared a dinner of grilled chicken breasts and fresh veggie kabobs that we enjoyed.

We just relaxed and enjoyed talking for the evening. As it turned dark and began cooling off, we returned to our homes for the night. I'm sure Marsha has some sightseeing planned for tomorrow, so we better get some rest.

We haven't blogged because we haven't been doing anything; we haven't blogged because we have been just too busy. Carrie flew in from Houston and Kelly came down from Streetsboro,Ohio,  and spent the week with us. It was nonstop visiting, laughing, eating, drinking, enjoying some family time together.   We will do some catching up in future blogs.

We had to reinstate the protective relocation service. We did catch that pesky groundhog, but it was only the baby.

Bella wanted to check it out, but we wouldn't let her get too close.

  1. Always nice to see fellow bloggers. I'm thinking Paul has a future in animal control field.

  2. How nice that Pam and John stopped for a visit. Hope to meet them one day.
We had roof rats in our attic once. I made Jim get humane traps because I hate to kill anything. He trapped three and took them to the woods near a neighborhood of really big homes a couple miles away. Hope they had fun in someone elses attic!
So where did Paul take the baby?

  4. So very glad to have more than a few hours over lunch to get together. I loved that we were able to stay right near by. We had a wonderful time. Can't thank you enough:)

  5. Who knows how many RVers will see that site and figure they can mooch-dock for a week, a month or forever! It's nice seeing friends again.

  6. The customizing of your driveway makes for a great place for RV guests. Glad to hear you had a great visit with your friends and family! Like Paul's new vocation. He's kinder to his groundhog friends than Paul was. Too many ruined gardens can do that to you! LOL

  7. I don't think you should put a 30amp or 50amp receptacle in your driveway or you could be overrun with RV's!

Glad that rain finally stopped for you. That would be pretty depressing alright.

  8. I think you must have borrowed that rain from Oregon as it has been hot and dry here for all of July so far. Glad you had a nice visit with friends. Looks like a good parking place.

  9. Trapper Paul....sounds good. Did you see where Shrine in Yarnell, AZ was damaged in the fire? See you in a few weeks.

  10. We've been having our share of rain here in SC as well. So far, most days have been overcast with occasional downpours. We do have the sun showing up every so often, but that's a mixed blessing as it then gets hot and humid. Oh well ... we knew this summer was going to be that way. Nice visit with Pam and John; we enjoy their blog and hope to meet up someday.

  14. You are now going to hear from anyone passing through Canton. Free? Including food? Yup; gonna stop there next time through. Lucky for you most of us no longer go east of the Mississippi. :)

  15. Not all of us stay west of the mighty Mississippi! ;) Let me know when you get 50 amps installed!

  17. Such fun to have RVing friends come to visit (no sheets to wash)!! :)) We just had Jim and Ellie Meachum parked in our driveway. I found your blog through John and Pam's--great photos. It was good to read a blog written by someone with a permanent home who travels part time. I have had thoughts of stopping my daily blog and only writing when I have something to talk about--sitting still here at home it becomes mundane and I would think boring for folks to read.
