HISTORIC OLD TOWN ALBUQUERQUE

Friday, September 27 – We visited “Old Town” Albuquerque this morning.

We enjoy window shopping in the small shops and doing some people watching. It's fun to see what small shop owners in different parts of the country offer up for sale. Obviously, in this area, there is an abundance of Native American Art and a large Hispanic influence.

Again, we walked away empty handed. It's funny, even though we really like the Albuquerque area, when we've been to a place previously (We were here in 2010.), it's just not as interesting the second time around. How's the saying go....”Been there, done that.”

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day

  1. There are some places we return to and like even better the second or third time around
(like Las Cruces), but Albuquerque was not one of those places. Too big and too much traffic for us.

  2. We are getting so we don't like any city. As cool as old Charleston is there are way to much traffic and to many people for us. We must be getting old.

  3. The first time we visit a place everything is new and exciting. When we go back there aren't as many surprises. Thank goodness there are many more cities we can visit so we don't need to keep going back to places we've been.

  4. We haven't made too many return trips to places other than Florida (and our beloved Oregon) in our motorhome yet. I can understand the "been there, done that" feeling. I think it happens more in touristy areas than in nature as I could go to the beaches or the mountains again and again, but not to most museums or urban areas.

  7. I can understand your "Been there, done that" feeling especially if you really toured the area. Many of our returns now are with the motorhome, having been to places for a day on a motorcycle trip. Now we are able to stay in an area and have the opportunity to get know it.

I do recognize the area in Old Town with all the jewelry makers. I bought necklaces for Jessica and me.

  10. With so much beauty in this country to explore, that could be the RVer's mantra..."been there, done that". Where to next?

  11. After a non-stop Pittsburgh visit and then a week catching up on everything else, finally was able to read about your adventures in Colorado and New Mexico. Sounds like you had a great month exploring that part of the country. Brought back good memories of our visit there a few years back.
