Sunday, March 8 – We joined Janice and Dave, Ready To Go Full Time RVing, today to attend the Cleveland Indians vs Texas Rangers spring baseball game at Surprise, Arizona. This is the Ranger's home field which they share with the Kansas City Royals. It's a very nice stadium and part of the 15 team Cactus League here in the Phoenix area.
It was a beautiful day for baseball with temperatures in the 80's. Man was the sun intense. Luckily it was not beating down on our faces. We sat on the third baseline today. We usually sit on the first baseline but luckily not today or the sun would have hit us head on and baked us for sure!
It was a good game and came down to the last out in the 9th inning. With a runner on third, the score tied 7-7, two outs, full count, the Texas Ranger batter got a hit and won the game. Dang! It was fun and we enjoyed visiting with Janice and Dave.
Janice, Dave, Marsha, Paul and the photobomber in the background. lol
The stadium has the best huge posters on their walls.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day!
Enjoying the great weather and your baseball fix, gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteWith your love of baseball, how come you've never been to Cooperstown?? Or have you?? Nice state park there called Glimmerglass if you ever do go.
ReplyDeleteThat is the only problem with being out in the direct sunlight. You Get Cooked! Glad you enjoyed the game. Haven't heard of your signing contract yet have you?
ReplyDeleteBe Safe!
It's about time.
With you being a partial resident of both states, did you get slaughtered or did you win?
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lot of fun! My husbands friends have been talking about us going to Springfield, MO to see a minor league team. I haven't been to see a major league since Mark McGwire was on his home run streak. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you enjoying Spring Training with your favorite team. The weather has been beautiful for baseball. The players would probably be happier with the temps a little cooler. I'm sure it's warm on the field with the 80's. I agree that a hot dog is better at the ball park than steak at the Ritz:)
ReplyDeleteWe arrive this afternoon!!! See you very soon...can't wait!!
I'm thinking the last time I went to a MLB game it was at Wrigley's Field in Chicago when I was about 12. I was a 'bleacher bum' for $1 and Ernie Banks was playing. Go Cubs! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always said I'd never die until the Cubs won the World Series. Could I live forever??
ReplyDeleteSurprise is the only stadium we've seen spring training games, like the no charge for parking, it is a beautiful stadium.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to watch a ballgame! Glad to see you're still enjoying yourselves and having a great winter!
