Tuesday, October 3 – We are trying to relax a bit while here at Raccoon Valley RV Park. They have three trails that wind through the woods just behind where we are parked. This is our third time here, and we think Bella likes this place the best of all the places we have stayed. As soon as we let her out of the MH, she heads for the woods. She enjoys walking on the path and off the path.

She always has to get a drink out of the icy stream.DSC07513

And of course, leaving her scent is mandatory. She wants to make sure all the other critters in the woods know she is here.

After talking with several people at the Ice Cream Social last night, we decided to take a drive to Melton Lake. It is only five miles west of the campground. It is a peaceful three mile one-way waterfront trail along Melton Hill Lake. It is great for biking, walking, running and skating. Paul rode his bike, and Marsha walked the trail. It was a beautiful day for activity.

The leaves…they are a changin'.

Views of the Lake.

It was nice to see this sign when we returned to our car.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see ya'll back real soon. Have a great day!

  1. Looks like she is enjoying the walk! Not sure I have ever seen a cat hiking in the woods on a leash:)

  2. Bella does look like she's in heaven. That is one happy cat.

  3. Great to see you can take Bella out for a walk on a leash - you don't see that very often.

Beautiful fall pictures of the trees and the lake.

  4. Raccoon Valley is one of the SKP Parks we haven't seen yet, so when we make our major trip east, we'll have to make that a stop. Sounds like Suzy could do that trail using her mobility scooter!

  5. Can't wait to meet Bella! She is so adorable!

Too bad we didn't find this ride/walk when we were there. We need to follow you two and then our tour would be all set up...LOL!

    Enjoy your stay!

  6. Bella standing on the log is a great photo!

  7. If we could get Buzz to go on a leash it would be great but she won't and she doesn't like outside.

I was a bit confused by the title of your post. Thought, heaven forbid, Bella had gone to heaven in the woods. Whew!

  8. "Tuesday, October 3rd" Make up your mind. :)

  9. There is so much for her to see and out there. She wants to take you with her too.

  10. Oh my bad habit of skimming caused a sharp intake of air when I read your blog title..."Miss Bella in Heaven." Paul then said..."in the woods!" Miss Bella loves to explore the woods! What a relief! LOL Looking forward to seeing Melton Lake for ourselves someday. :-)

  11. Ok...So I guess I'm the only one who read your post title wrong... and Im so glad I was wrong.
I read your title and thought Bella had died! While waiting for the post to load, I was almost in tears!!
Im so glad Bella is HERE in heaven.

  12. LOVE those shots of Bella. She's definitely enjoying herself! What cat harness are you using?

  13. I never heard of Melton Lake. We will have to check it out when we go there in June next year.

  14. Nice to see that Bella is able to get out and enjoy the wonderful fresh air and all the smells that the woods give off. There is another trail now that I have to remember to check out one day. Beautiful views of the lake.

  15. You are in our old stomping grounds hope you are having a great time. Fall is a great time to visit there, the leaves are usually gorgeous this time of the year.

Thanks for leaving us a comment. We enjoy reading them. Have a great day!
