Friday, March 15 – After our time at the Livestock Show (see previous Blog), we relaxed and chatted  with Carrie for awhile over a bottle of wine at the Wine Garden.  Then it was off to the Rodeo. What fun! It was the Rodeo Houston Super Series Wildcard. First and second place finishers advance to Saturday's finals and a chance for a share of $2.04 million in cash prizes.

Carrie bought our tickets for our Mother's and Father's day, birthday and anniversary gift. We were in the Club seats…WOW…aren't we something.

Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and Bareback Riding.

For the really young ones (pre-school) age – Mutton Riding. We really enjoyed watching these little kidders trying to ride those lambs. Crazy!

And the winner is….this little GIRL!!!

They had stagecoach racing. Marsha picked the winner this year.

If you have never seen a rodeo, we highly recommend attending one. They are really exciting.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day!

  1. Great pictures and what a great gift! The mutton riding is always fun to watch. Never heard of the calf scramble before. Wonder what those poor calves are thinking with all those kids running after them! Making memories with Carrie...priceless!

  2. We have been to many rodeos, but never Houston. That is on my list of things I want to do. If you want to see the best of the best, go to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo. It's not the show like a Houston but the top 15 for the year in each event.

  3. Definitely going to have to see a rodeo! They look terrific! Wonder if Houston has them all year round? We'll be there in May...

  4. Just love Rodeos. We have been to a few In Canada and always exciting entertainment.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

  5. Rodeos are really a lot of fun. However, we've definitely not ever had someone buy us club seats. Can we borrow Carrie?

  6. I love rodeos, and particularly enjoy the mutton bustin'.

  7. Really like rodeos - especially the mutton riders. What a nice present.

  8. Have not been to a rodeo since we were first married. It is on our 2nd time around bucket list though.

  9. You've done it again! A 'Wine Garden' in Texas and at a rodeo of all places!! Who'd a thunk it?? Must be more cowgirls than cowboys in Houston!

  10. The rodeo seemed like a blast! Thanks for the pictures.

  11. One of the longest continuing running Rodeos is near where we lived. Its in Woodstown, NJ - COWTOWN Rodeo. Open every Saturday night from May to Sept. We would go every few years.

I hate the traffic around Houston. Can't imagine what it is like when the rodeo is in town. Looks like you all had fun.

  12. great picture of the bucking horse doing his job!!!!

  13. Never been to a rodeo but that looks like fun. Great picture of you guys and Carrie.

Thanks for leaving us a comment. We enjoy reading them. Have a great day!
