Tuesday, June 25 – We met fellow bloggers and traveling friends, Margery and Paul, Living Our Dream, this morning for breakfast at Der Dutchman in Walnut Creek. We enjoyed lunch last year at this same Amish Restaurant with them. Since we wanted to do some exploring in Amish Country today, we opted to meet early so we could look around later.
We really enjoy visiting with Margery and Paul. Not only are we both RV'ers, but we have many other common interests. Thanks for a wonderful morning of fun and fellowship!
After breakfast we headed into Berlin to do some strolling through the many shops and enjoyed people watching. We left town pretty much empty handed right before a big rain shower opened up. The shower followed us most of the way home, which is good since we really do need some rain.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day!
Nice that Paul got the day off to visit with friends.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos you guys! We haven't done Amish country yet but we will one day.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were close to Amish country! I love how quaint the homes look and the gorgeous flowers and green pastures put a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your pictures of Amish country. Love your header photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! We really enjoy that area and have gained a few pounds at that restaurant,as well:)
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing you two again! You got some terrific pictures of this area!
ReplyDeleteA great day indeed!
ReplyDeletelove, love, love that farm pic.. .so great!
ReplyDeleteWe'll see Margery and Paul at Niagara Falls in about ten days. . .looking forward to it!
Nice new header! Could be Lancaster, PA! I felt like I was back in PA looking at all the Amish. I am sure many of the Amish in your area have relatives in Lancaster.
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to visit with RV friends. Glad you had a nice breakfast with Margery and Paul:)
Wow.... Nice tour and great pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a different life the Amish have. It's amazing they can just ignore all of the 'progress' common to the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
A great way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteWe are in Mennonite/Amish country here in Ontario and such a wonderful area to live in. All of my wife's family are Mennonite, still some old order, and mostly New order like her.
I want to do some exploring with the Amish too. I keep talking to Terry about going there but we're so dang busy right now!!
ReplyDeleteAs John and Pam said - looks like nearby Lancaster County, PA. When out that way we surely will have to tour that area.
ReplyDeleteGreat header, especially without all the usual electrical wires in the way. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful country side! How far is this from your house? I especially love the Amish areas, I think Indiana was my favorite, although PA was lovely as well (haven't seen OH yet). I appreciate their dedication and the simplicity.
ReplyDeleteWe are back on the road, finally, so hopefully I will get back to blogging again.
Hugs.
Does this mean paul's honey-do list is dwindling down? ;-))
ReplyDeleteWe love visiting the Berlin and Mt. Eaton area. Dave used to have business in Pittsburgh, Canton, Akron, etc. so we'd put Beluga at the Evergreen RV Resort near Mt. Eaton and explore the area. It is so peaceful and bucolic. Except, perhaps, for the puppy mills often hidden in those lovely red barns....
