FINAL STOP ON THE TOUR OF CANTON, OHIO.

Friday, July 19 – After all our outdoor touring with John and Pam, we took the tour inside…The Pro Football Hall Of Fame to be exact.

Since opening in 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame was expanded in 1971, 1978 and 1995, and completed major exhibit gallery renovations in 2003, 2008, and 2009. We have watched the original 19,000 square-foot Hall of Fame museum turned into over 83,000 square feet of beauty.

It was later in the afternoon when we arrived at the HOF. We did not take a tour but did visit the gift shop. It is huge with every type of memorable one can image. If you can't find what you are looking for, they don't make it…bottom line!

Okay all you true football fans. Who is the guy in the next photo. Answer at end of blog.

The Hall of Fame Game is played in a historic high school stadium called Fawcett Stadium. The Stadium was open so the guys just had to walk onto the field.

The game will be played in just a few short weeks. Here are the enshrines for this year.

  2. Didn't even know the Football Hall of Fame was in Canton. Since we aren't football fans if we ever come visit you guys at your home we can skip going there. Now the beverages at the Irish Pub are a different story!

  3. Well, neither Jim nor I got it right. We'd like the HOF if we ever get out that way.

  4. I am woefully behind in my blog comments, but had to say something about this one as it HIGH on Vic's list to visit this fall. It will complete his tour of his favorite sports halls of fame having visited the baseball and basketball ones a few years ago. You are sure great tour guides as I bet you have been here many times!

  6. We discovered that we learned more about our own when we had folks from other places visit. I'm thinking this is what happened to you too. Right?

  7. The NFL HOF would be high on my list of places to visit if I ever found myself in Canton.

I recognized Ditka's ugly mug right away even though he's much younger than he is now. Mike has a face one never forgets - great football player and a fun coach!

  8. Well you finally found a place that I won't be putting on our places to visit list. Neither Kevin nor I are football fans but I am glad that you enjoyed your visit there with your friends. That is definitely quite the expansion that they have done over the years. I think I like the old entrance over the new one, it has a little more character to it.

  10. Although I am more into college ball than the pros, I think that would be a fun place to visit. I love to watch football.

  11. Looks like you had a day with your friends. We are not sports fans at all so not a place we would enjoy.
But the ending sure looked perfect.

  12. Good thing there are football fans. Judging by the above comments, not a lot of them here.

We would watch when Eagles (me being from South Jersey) played the Cowboys (Leonard being from SW Louisiana)
