Wednesday, March 2 - Paul's been doing a little carving during his knee surgery recuperation. He carved a couple spirits in some cypress knees. You may have seen these cypress knees growing in swamps along the Gulf Coast. Paul buys the cypress knees at carving stores. They are a soft wood so make carving in them pretty enjoyable.
The weather here in Houston has been fantastic. Taking advantage of the excellent weather, we visited a couple more micro-breweries, The Buffalo Bayou Brewery and Cedar Creek Brewery, with Carrie and Michael. Both breweries had some good adult beverages to sample and tables to sit, play some board games, and do some people watching.
We enjoy playing games as we sip our beverages.
Carrie always seems to find some adventure for us to enjoy while visiting her on Saturday afternoon. :) If you are visiting Houston, take advantage of visiting these two breweries. Get there early because they both get packed, especially on Saturday.
Marsha’s favorite time of the year has arrived. She has HIGH hopes for the Cleveland Indians this year!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day!
I like yahtzee but we don't find many RVers that enjoy playing the games we do. However, we do find many who we can share a meal or a drink with.
ReplyDeleteJim and I like board games like Yahtzee or Sequence. I like your title on this blog - craving some carving maybe?
ReplyDeleteCarving is always fun, I get it it out occasionally, and work on a few unfinished projects.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are a very talented couple with your hobbies.
ReplyDeletePaul needs to go to the Woodcarvers week in Congress.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Paul's knee surgery is moving along from ace bandage to band aids!! He is sure bending it at a great angle. Good to see:) Love the Tree Spirits! Beautiful job, Paul:)
ReplyDeleteMore fun time at the breweries! Your beers are way too light colored for me. I need to see some Porters or Stouts:) Glad you are getting to spend good times with Carrie and Michael:)
I'm not a beer drinker...too many bubbles. So I guess I'll never visit those breweries. ;)
ReplyDeleteThose places look like fun.... I loved the colorful cowboy and girl! Not funny, but those bandaids on Paul's knee... right below the carving knife made me do a double take ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou have such a good daughter.
ReplyDeleteCarving is a good sitting still hobby.
