Thursday, January 19 – After leaving the Judge Roy Bean Museum, we continued west on US-90. What a beautiful route. We highly recommend this route, especially the section between San Antonio and El Paso . There is very little traffic, speed limit of 65 mph, a nice smooth surface and very wide berms. Oh, and beautiful mountain scenery!
The wind was so bad, tumbleweed flew in front of us the entire drive. Crazy.
When we travel, Bella loves to sleep on Paul’s lap.
We crossed into Mountain Time just before entering El Paso. We passed through the city without too much trouble, but traffic was fairly heavy. We are staying at Sunland Racetrack and Casino which is actually in New Mexico but just off I-10 as you leave El Paso. The sites are on asphalt with water and 50 amp electric. There is a dump station available. Cost is $15 per night. There are eight sites available and luckily there is only one other RV here, so we have the “campground” (pavement) almost to ourselves.
Racetrack right in front of us.
We have plenty to see in El Paso, so stop back and see the city through our eyes!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day!
Looking forward to reading what you discover in El Paso. We never took the time to stop there.
ReplyDeleteDitto above:) We have been there several times and mostly explored the outlying areas.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to reading about and seeing pics of what all you see in El Paso.

Take lotsa pictures of El Paso so we can see it through you eyes and not have to stop there maybe.
ReplyDeleteI had to check out hwy 90. Interesting route. We've been through several of the towns but never made the full trip on it. I had to map it and the route is only 25 miles farther. Sounds like we need to try that next time. See you soon!
ReplyDeleteI imagine there is never a drive across Texas without wind. We enjoyed the parts of 90 we did, also. Your site looks perfect for a short stay!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to try the bypass next time through El Paso
