Wednesday, March 1 – All systems were GO for our departure from Sedona this morning. The truck seemed to operate very smoothly after our recent repair. Surprising the number of friends that informed us that they had their vehicles serviced or repaired at that same dealer. Must be those Sedona vortex causing problems.... :-)
It was a smooth trip down the mountains to Phoenix. Pretty much down hill the entire way.
We said our good byes to the snow-capped mountains.
We are at Usery Mountain Regional Park in Maricopa County.
We have a beautiful site, #32, with 50 amp electric and water. There is a dump station available which we used on our way into the park. We had no where to dump in Sedona so we brought our…“stuff” with us. The sites are gravel and very widely spaced. Very private with grills, picnic tables and huge backyards. The streets are paved and wide enough to make backing the 5th wheel into our site relatively easy.
We are here to mostly relax and do a little hiking. There are an abundance of hiking trails in the area. We intend to give them some use. We also hope to do some easy mountain bike riding too!
Marsha had a wonderful time watching the sunset and took numerous pictures. She loves the quite and peaceful environment and so does Bella. Neither one of them wanted to come inside tonight. Guess we'll have to get some firewood and have a campfire in the near future.
Do you see the plane on the right side of the photo?
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day!
Good to know about Usery Mountain Regional parliament. We want to go to different places this coming winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice site you all have!! Looks so quiet and peaceful. The sunset is stunning...no I didn't notice the plane at first. Hope you all enjoy your time at Usery
ReplyDeleteand get a lot of good hiking and biking in!!
Looks like a great lace to enjoy one more wonderful weather.
ReplyDeleteWe liked that park, too. Lots of people do. They were doing overflow parking in the parking lot once when we were there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very nice park. I will put it on our list of places to stay.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear your truck is back running in such a short time. One thing about rving is that you will break down somewhere along the road and it was fortunate that it happened while you were in a campground.
Have fun out there.
Get the ranger to tell you the story of the Phoenix sign.
ReplyDeleteGlad all worked out with truck repair! Enjoy your relaxing, quiet time in Usery:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice, peaceful place. I love the night sky!
ReplyDeleteWe have heard from others too about how wonderful Usery is for great camping and hiking. Your photos are great. Thanks for reminding us to check it out soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad your wrinkles got ironed out. I like riding on Moon Rock in Usery.
