TEXAS STRONG

Wednesday August 30 – We would like to thank all our family and friends for your emails, phone calls and texts. As we write this post, Carrie is finally able to get back to Houston. She actually just texted to say she has to report to work tomorrow. She lives and works in downtown Houston. Her apartment complex has electric but no water. She is one of the very lucky ones!

We are all so blessed not to have to endure this terrible natural disaster. We have seen on TV so many incredible tales of one human being helping another. America is great, and it is being proven over and over in Texas. Pray along with us for all of Texas. Stay Texas Strong.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day….and count your blessings!

  1. Thanks for posting, I was wondering how Carrie made out in Houston. It's stressful to go through those storms, which is one of the reasons we left Florida. It will take a long time for life to be back to normal for those who endured the damage and flooding from the hurricane.

  3. Thanks! I've thought of you and Carrie often. Great to know she is okay. Our daughter who lives in Pearland (just a little south of Houston) had water almost up to the house but the house is dry. But, her brother-in-law and family lost everything. They live in Spring. Some of Len's family in Orange, TX has flooding in their homes. His family in SW Louisiana has surrounding water but not in the houses. This has been an unbelievable situation.

  4. So glad to hear Carrie made it back to Houston. I am surprised that she has to be at work. I guess between her place and work is water free?! Did Carrie's building take on any water? So glad she was away while all this was going on. Thanks for the update!

  5. Do you know if the Elks Club where you stay was under water?
All our kids in Texas are fine. The youngest that lives on the coast said that he had no flooding there.

  7. A sigh of relief that Carrie is home safely. Our plans to visit TX this winter are canceled. Our RV Park near Rockport is a total loss and a couple of our full-time friends that live their year round lost everything. So very sad. I'll be putting together some care packages for them. It'll take years for these folks to recover.

  8. Our momma heart's never relax until we know our chickies are back in the nest.

Wishing I could magically transport myself to help my son and DIL with their clean up efforts. . .and then be magically transported back to Utah.

Makes my heart hurt to know so many have suffered so greatly, and that life as they know it will not return to normal for months to come!

Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, and beautiful words of encouragement for our fellow Americans who are suffering so unbelievably.
