Saturday, May 26 - We headed north to Brookings, Oregon, today.
A bit foggy at the beginning of the trip.
This is our first time in Oregon! We've already visited some beautiful coastal areas here in Brookings, and we just started Oregon.....WOW!
We are staying at Chetco RV Park on highway 101 south in Brooking, OR. It certainly isn't a luxury resort but will be nice for the 3-days we are here. We called the Brookings Elks Lodge, but they said they were full for the holiday weekend. We walked past the Elks while visiting Brooking, and noticed numerous open sites. Not sure what is up with that, but it may have been difficult to maneuver into the Elks because of a festival going on in the city.
Site 21. Privacy hedge on both sides which we like.
Looking right down the road. No one on either side of us.
So we're all settled in and ready to visit the beautiful Oregon coast.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day!
One of the things we have really enjoyed along the Oregon coast is touring the many lighthouses. Hope you can do the same.
ReplyDeleteI love that rugged coast line:)
ReplyDeleteYou'll love the Oregon Coast. It is one of our favorite spots to visit and has so many great beaches and rocky coastlines. Make sure your camera batteries are fully charged before you head out because you'll be taking hundreds of photos!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Oregon!!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it as much as we did when we came up through there 3weeks ago.
Safe Travels,
Jim
What beautiful blue skies as you continue your adventures...AFTER the foggy morning start that is. What a wonderful trip you are on! Thought we would only visit the Northwest once, but you make it so enticing to return.
ReplyDeleteWe were in a park once that had oleanders as view blocks between the sites. I'm sure the people next to us had no idea that while we sitting inside our RV and they were visiting with friends on their patio we could hear every word of their conversation. Be careful who and what you talk about. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. Thanks for blazing my trail!
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one wondering what's up with Elks Lodges saying they are full up when they aren't. I read a couple of posts recently on Gypsy Journal about a similar experience.
ReplyDeleteOregon is our goal for summer of 2013. You will surely enjoy your time there.
ReplyDeleteWe loved Oregon and Washington when we were there. Some absolutely amazing coastlines and scenery.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty, how pretty!!! We will be there SOON! Can't wait!

We are hoping to visit the west coast in the next couple of years, after all health issues are taken care of.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!! Keep them coming and we can pretend we are there with you!!
Remember you're supposed to slow down and smell the roses. And, welcome to the beginning of God's Country.
ReplyDeleteWe loved what we saw of the Oregon coast. Hope you enjoy it. Our friends David and Lynda are there in OR as well and are truly enjoying it. Glad you connected with them (well David at least) too bad y'all didn't have time together, I think you have quite a bit in common.
