Friday, November 2 – Well, we're all packed up and ready to go. Marsha was so excited that we successfully hooked-up the trailer on the first try. Guess she thought Paul would miss the pin box while backing the truck under the fifth wheel....ha ha! We successfully towed the 5th wheel about ten feet with no mishaps!
Marsha's responsibility for this first time was to be sure the pin aligned with the hitch.
Paul did check the tire pressure on the trailer and discovered only 65 pounds of air pressure in all the tires instead of the 80 pounds marked on the tires. So he dug out his air compressor that he had stored in the basement of the 5th wheel and increased the pressure to the recommended amount. Wonder why the RV dealer delivered the 5th wheel with low air pressure?
With everything completed, we settled into the house for the last night in Ohio. Interestingly enough, there were a few snow flakes in the air as we closed-up shop.
Here are just a few photos of the inside.
We are ready to roll!
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day!
Good job on getting that kingpin aligned! Before you know it you'll be old hats at that. It sure looks like you have a beautiful new winter home. Only great times ahead ....
ReplyDeleteWagons ho!!! Safe travels to the two of you. Still no snow in the valley.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely new home...and congrats on the hitch up. Safe travels as you head south!
ReplyDeleteWhat a team! Your new fifth-wheel is beautiful and looks comfortable, too. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteGood job you guys. Always nice when it lines up on the first try. You have a beautiful rig and I think you're really going to enjoy it. Be safe out on the road and get away from those snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that first hook up it can be a little scary the first time but you will soon be doing it without that awful feeling in your stomach. Good luck and see you down the road.

Safe travels and have fun ... we'll be rolling this weekend too, but it will be to drive the moving truck and unload it at the storage facility.
ReplyDeletesafe travels to you as you begin your 2012 snowbird adventure!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a professional job of hooking up the 5th wheel.
ReplyDeleteThat 5th wheel is nice and roomy. Will be curious to read about the pros and cons after you have had it a while, especially since coming from your Class A.
Enjoy,
Mark
