Week of April 22 – Since we arrived back in Canton, Ohio, last Monday, the weather has been fantastic. But, all good things must come to an end.
It is way too early to think that the white stuff is a thing of the past. Monday morning proved this to be true. YUCK!
Bella is trying to tell us it is cold by warming herself on our DVR.
Paul's been keeping himself fairly busy around the house and keeping himself out of trouble. One of the priorities is to remodel the bathroom, so he got started on that project.
In order to get started on the bathroom, he had to first move the washer and dryer. They were the stackable type located in a linen closet off the bathroom.
They were just too small and inefficient for Marsha, so we purchased replacements off Craigslist and installed them in the basement. Of course that meant putting in necessary plumbing and electrical hookups.
The gentleman we bought the washer and dryer from delivered them and helped Paul carry them to the basement.
Paul installing the 20 amp breaker for the dryer.
Once that was completed Paul was able to start destruction of the bathroom. He tore out a bathroom storage closet, the previously mentioned linen closet, and tons of old plaster and drywall. Boy, what a mess!
Bathroom closet…gone. Hall closet…gone.
Sight from the hallway looking through where the two closets used to be. Now what?
Next on the list is removing the handicap shower. Many friends think we're nuts to remove this walk-in shower, but Marsha sure misses soaking in a tub, so out it goes! We'll hope to keep fit and active so the handicap shower won't be missed.
Question for all you animal lovers out there. Does your dog/cat/fish/snake whatever snore? Bella is the loudest snorer ever or loudest deep breather. She is so loud sometimes we just sit and laugh.
One of her sleeping positions for snoring.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day!
Yuck, yuck, yuck...there are no other words.
ReplyDeleteWow! Paul has really made headway in the first remodel. A bathtub is always nice for a great soak...something we never get to do in the RV. You should write a pamphlet about making the most of Craigslist. You two seem to use it to your advantage. Poor Bella...tough adjustment from the south to the north in early spring. Might she need a sweater? ;-)
That should keep Paul busy for a little bit..
ReplyDeleteOur kittens don't snore, but Oreo used to make really weird noises, guess you could call it snoring. That's how we knew he was really sound asleep.
ReplyDeleteHope it warms up soon so Bella doesn't have to sleep on the DVR!
Can you sell the step in shower on Craigs List? They are worth a pretty penny.
ReplyDeleteParker does snore sometimes but alas not for much longer. The farting is worse than the snoring though!!
For Paul the projects never end. Marsha, is that your doing?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Bella needs a C pap machine.......Joe will glady give her his :)
ReplyDeleteWe took our tub out and put in a handicap shower when Joe's mom came to live with us. I sure miss it.
Quite a remodel job going on there but so far Paul seems to have it under control.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have something to do when coming back from a snowbird vacation. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.
Paul, what would you do without Marsha's to do list? Hopefully the weather stays lousy until you can get that bathroom project done so you won't be tempted to go outside. Our Scooter snores up a storm. Every night. Skitz doesn't ever snore but occasionally she squeaks.
ReplyDeleteYou're hardly back and you start all these projects without resting? Sounds like someone else I know.
ReplyDeleteGlad it you doing the renovations, after doing that to ten homes, just really don't have the desire anymore.
ReplyDeleteWill be nice when it done thou.
That looks like a lot of work. Enjoy your new house.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a pretty big job, but I'm sure Paul is up for it.
ReplyDeleteNo snoring around here, except for Al.
You guys are working too hard! We're sure it will all be worth it, but by golly, it's an awful lot of work!
ReplyDeleteThat's a big job Paul is taking on-he'll be ready for a vacation!
ReplyDeleteTackling a bathroom reno ... not sure Mui would touch that one with a long pole ... but then again, he hasn't had to ... yet.
ReplyDeleteI had to put in a walk in handicapped shower when my mother lived with me before I went full time. I really liked it. I had enough of tub baths when I was little. I really prefer a shower. Different strokes...
ReplyDeleteLooks like way to much fun, for the both of you.
ReplyDeleteAt least inside you can avoid the snow!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Paul is at it again! Anxious to see the final results. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a major project there. I definitely prefer a shower. I still have nightmares about sharing bathwater with my siblings when I was little. Being the youngest of four, I got the last bath - UGH!! Now that's too much information for sure LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't like the look of the snow but at least it was just a dusting. We will have snow around for awhile yet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have quite the project on the go. I look forward to seeing the finished result.

2 of our 3 cats snore and we have found ourselves chuckling.
