Friday, October 22 – We stopped at Florida's state capital – Tallahassee, Florida. We are staying at the Tallahassee Elks Lodge Campground. They have five sites on crushed gravel tucked behind the lodge. We would have had a 30 amp full-hook-ups but they recently had a waterline break, so we have to use our on-board freshwater system. No problem since they provided a spigot to fill our tank at the lodge. They are only asking for a $15 donation since the water is not working. There is another fifth wheel here, but no one lives in it. Good WIFI and Verizon.
Marsha has plans for us to see the Capitol tomorrow and FSU. We will only be here two night. We are meeting good friends in Santa Rosa, FL, on Saturday.
The sites are pretty shady. We were concerned our satellite couldn't get a clear shot at the southern sky to hook on. We want to test our new Direct TV receiver that we had shipped here that was waiting in the office for us to pick-up. We ran the TV wire far enough in front of our RV to hook-on and everything seems to work correctly. Glad to get that repair out of the way.
After getting the satellite receiver working (Thanks to Marsha’s patience.), we cleaned up and took a ride to the Tallahassee Visitor's Center which is about a ten minute ride downtown. We picked up some brochures and then took a little ride around to acclimate ourselves to the area.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y’all back real soon. Have a great day!
We're definitely looking forward to seeing both of you on Saturday! Can't believe we found a place all 3 of our rigs could book at the same time over a weekend around Destin! See you soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's one capital we haven't visited yet.
ReplyDeleteNice that you got the satellite working, I am sure you will have fun this weekend, enjoy !
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear you got your new receiver and all is working. Enjoy your time in Tallahassee. We've never been to the capital but did visit the university back when Jessica was looking at colleges.
