Tuesday, September 25 – We've been keeping ourselves pretty busy getting moved into our house. With painting, yard work, and furniture shopping it doesn't leave much time for pleasurable outings.

Marsha is thrilled to get hands back doing yard work. Yes, she is strange.

There will be many more similar photos like the one above this next spring.

We haven't sold the motor home yet, but have had several people come to see it and several more wanting to see it as we head South. So there is some hope. As we've said, we still plan on traveling as Snowbirds between Ohio and the northern states during the summer and Texas and the southwest during the winter. We have been looking for 5th wheel trailers to use for future travels.

If you are interested in seeing the MH inside and out, please click here.

Our plans are to leave Ohio by mid-October. We will be traveling to Augusta, GA, to visit Paul's brother for about a week. From there we will slowly work our way toward Houston, TX. We want to stop in either Foley, AL, or Bay St. Louis, MS, to enjoy a week or so at the Gulf shores.

Not sure where we'll spend the winter. Much depends on when we sell the motor home. Most likely, we'll hang around Texas until the motor home sells so shopping for a 5th wheel will be a little easier. It seems like we see a lot of RV's for sale in Texas.

Besides working around the house, we have made time to spend with good friends and family.

We have been enjoying watching Bella react to the move. She spends a ton of time each day exploring and reexaming her surroundings.

After all the painting, she needed a little rest in the sun.DSC00892

Must have been another big day of exploring.DSC00893

She needed to try out the new comforter. Wonder if she will have to try it out again once the bed skirt gets on.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see y'all back real soon. Have a great day.

  1. The joys of homeownership! It certainly is rewarding, isn't it? You're doing a wonderful job with everything, and having fun in the process. Doesn't get much better than that!

  2. Work, work, work. It never stops no matter what one does or where one goes. At least weather is pretty nice right now so being outside isn't so bad. Just wait a few months and it'll be different. We're starting to get our "stuff" ready for that trip south too. We're already planning our visits to folks we want to visit before we leave.

  3. I can't believe how hard you are working poor Bella, give the poor girl a break.

  4. I love yard work!! We also love feeding our birds....backyard is very natural with huge trees! We also really enjoyed "fixing" up the home we bought as well. It is rewarding to see it shape up the way you want it...colors etc. Things are looking good!

Good luck on the sell of the MH! We got very lucky on selling ours. We will purchase something smaller in a few months we aren't sure what yet! Wishing you guys the best!! Safe travels as you head south!!

  5. Yard work! I know exactly what you mean - that pile of debris looks exactly like what's in our backyard! It does keep a person busy and active though so I imagine that's good.

Bella seems to be getting well accustomed to her new digs.

  6. So why the change from a tt to a fiver? Don't wait too long to head south. It does snow up that way you know. lol

  7. I too love yard work. Sounds like you have plenty of that in your future. Enjoy your new home. :)

  8. When you get all caught up on that yard work, come see us! Russ hates yard work but since you love it, we'll be glad to share LOL. I bet Bella is enjoying having lots of room and new places to explore.

  9. After 4 years on the road we still don't miss that yard work!
Good luck selling the motor home.

  10. Looks like work to me....lol Did you have to go to using Google Chrome for a browser to post on here. Mine is not working right at all.

  11. I do miss landscaping the pretty stuff. . .not the yard work part. . .but not enough to buy another house!

    Have fun though. . .

  12. I remember your travel blog including pictures of Marsha raking leaves and tending flower beds so I guess I should not have been so surprised when you bought a house. Dave nor I ever enjoyed that so it makes sense we prefer an apartment. Isn't it great there are so many opportunities to do what we enjoy yet avoid what we don't?

  13. The joys of home ownership :-))) Sounds like you've been making good progress and have a plan in the works for the future. Having that plan is half the battle.

  14. you are going to put in a 50 amp connection for us future visitors... right?

  15. sure sounds like the three of you are enjoying the new 'space'!..glad to hear you are settling in!

  16. Looks like you're well on your way to getting your nest just the way you like it...just be careful you don't work Bella too hard! Nice to see you're getting some time with friends/family, too! Nothing like eating out after a day of hard work!

  17. Hi Weavers....

You are very busy people...lots of energy. All your yard work reminds me of when we had a house and yard. Wishing you good luck in finding a buyer for your motorhome. Good travels to the South for winter...thanks for your comments on our blog!

  18. Nice to see you are getting all settled in....Bella sure looks more tired than you two do....:)

Thanks for leaving us a comment. We enjoy reading them. Have a great day!
